The Engineering Department is responsible for the review of construction plans, subdivision plats and management of capital improvement projects for the City of Canton including streetscapes, right-of-way acquisition, stormwater quality and utility system improvements.

The Engineering Department issues land disturbance permits and performs site inspections for public and private commercial and residential development projects within the City. Additional responsibilities include code compliance and enforcement of local ordinances.
