The Cherokee County School District (CCSD)

EducationThe CCSD consistently ranks among the top school districts in the State. These top honors include the highest SAT scores of any school district in Georgia in 2012, and the highest in metro Atlanta in 2013. In addition to scoring the second-highest ACT score average in the State.

All public schools in Cherokee County operate under the Cherokee County School District (CCSD)- a top-performing school district in the State.

Four out of the six Cherokee County high schools were ranked by U.S. News & World Report as Best High Schools in the Nation for 2014.

The Washington Post included three out of the six Cherokee County high schools in its America's Most Challenging High Schools list of the top public schools in the nation for 2014.

Local elementary schools are a great example of CCSD's innovation and adaptation of student needs and interests: Canton Elementary is STEM Academy, Hasty Elementary is a Fine Arts Academy.

Whether students choose college, university, or technical skills for work readiness, CCSD offers numerous programs to fit their interests, including two dozen industry certification programs.

Higher Education

We are certain you can find what you are looking for in our local and nearby higher educational institutions. Chattahoochee Technical College has a Canton Campus. Reinhardt University is the only institution higher of education founded in Cherokee County. Kennesaw State is Georgia's third-largest university and enrolls many Cherokee County residents.
