Captain Jeff Tucker Promoted to Position of Deputy Chief

Deputy Chief TuckerThe City of Canton Police Department proudly announces the promotion of Captain Jeff Tucker to the position of Deputy Chief. With over three decades of dedicated law enforcement experience, Captain Tucker has exemplified outstanding leadership and commitment to public service.
 
Captain Tucker's career in law enforcement began in 1986 in Michigan before joining the Canton Police Department in 2003. Throughout his tenure, he has served with distinction in various capacities, including Traffic Officer, Traffic Corporal, Traffic Sergeant, and Uniform Patrol Lieutenant. In 2018, he was promoted to the rank of Captain, where he has effectively overseen departmental operations and initiatives. In his role as Administrative Bureau Commander since 2022, Captain Tucker has been responsible for overseeing fleet management, emergency operations, administration and records bureau, code enforcement, parking enforcement, property evidence management, and accreditation, among other duties. He has also spearheaded innovative programs such as the Electric Motorcycles Program and License Plate Recognition Systems, contributing to improved departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
