If you are a City of Canton resident, expect some positive changes in the coming weeks that will streamline your water service. The City is doing a major upgrade to water meters for all City water customers. The new and improved meters provide functionality that will send auto reads to the City Water Department for billing, continuously monitor your water usage, send alerts for high water consumption and potential water leaks, and let you view your water usage online.
M&E Construction has been contracted by the City to change out all old water meters with the upgraded meters. All M&E staff working on this project will be identifiable by their uniforms and vehicles. Although there is not an exact time or location schedule, please anticipate that you may see your meter changed out in the next two weeks between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. during the week, with only a 15 minute interruption to your water service.
Thank you for your understanding, and we apologize in advance for any inconveniences. If you have any questions, please reach to the City Water Department at 770-704-1502.
