The Canton Police Department is currently investigating a fatality crash
that occurred on Interstate 575 Northbound, just North of exit 16, at
approximately 9:16 A.M. this morning.

Officers arrived on scene and observed a tractor-trailer overturned, and
at rest up against the median wall with debris scattered across the
roadway.

The initial investigation revealed the tractor-trailer was traveling in the
middle lane when it appears the driver made an evasive action upon
observing another vehicle attempting to merge from the right lane. The
driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn onto its driver’s
side, coming to rest against the median wall.

Ronald Campbell, 65 years old, of Auburn, Georgia, succumbed to his
injuries on scene, as a result of the crash. Mr. Campbell’s family has
been notified.
